The Gravity Vault Indoor Rock Gyms offers indoor rock climbing that includes top rope climbing, bouldering, and lead climbing, along with private climbing sessions and group classes. The program also offers yoga classes, belay classes, clinics, camps, competitions, birthday parties, competitive climbing teams, and options for memberships and day passes. Facilities include cardiovascular and strength training areas, fitness classes, lounges, pro shops, and private party rooms, with wall features such as Arêtes, Arches, Key Holes, Chimneys, Cracks, Overhangs, and more, over 14,000+ square feet of climbing with 40+ foot walls and 45–60 top rope stations, plus extensive bouldering and dynamic lead climbing.
The Gravity Vault Indoor Rock Gyms was founded by Lucas Kovalcik and Tim Walsh. The original Gravity Vault opened in 2005 as a state of the art, full service indoor rock climbing and fitness facility with a private party room, yoga classes, clinics, camps, and competitions. The Gravity Vault Indoor Rock Gyms have been serving local communities since 2005, with the first location built in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, a second location opening in Chatham, New Jersey after 4 years, and franchising beginning in 2013 with the first franchisee-owned facility in Middletown, New Jersey. The Gravity Vault states that it is proud to be the first Indoor Rock Climbing Franchise, and each facility is custom designed with its own unique layout. The Gravity Vault Indoor Rock Gyms’ mission is to make everyone’s rock climbing experience a positive and memorable one, to provide a welcoming, diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for customers and staff, and to be a “home away from home” for people of all ages and experience levels. The Gravity Vault Indoor Rock Gyms brings climbing to local communities and works with both local and national organizations to help benefit the sport of rock climbing, its climbers, its communities, and the environment.
